Original japanese print - Diptych

Meiji emperor and Empress viewing Chrysanthemuns

A lovely scene of the Meiji Emperor and Empress paying a visit to a chrysanthemum garden. The emperor stands at right in a fine military uniform and plumed cap. The Empress is dressed in the latest occidental fashions at left. Several ladies ot the palace accompagny them, also dressed in modern european attire.

A very nice image with lovely color and detail, including burnishing in the black uniform and dress and touches of embossing in the white flowers.
